Studio Conchita, based in Mexico City, was founded in 2019 by jewelry artist Renata Blanco. Her signature material, glass, is being repurposed to create jewelry and objects. She seeks to translate the organic materiality of glass into metals such as gold and silver through jewelry making, creating unique, custom-made pieces.
Renata grew up in a creative world. Her first exposure to glass came from her father, who worked with clay, wrought iron, and blown glass in his hometown of Guadalajara.
We work with different techniques, including hand-blown glass for utilitarian objects and 100% recycled glass, ethically handcrafted in collaboration with local artisans.
Lampworking, or pulled glass for jewelry, handmade with borosilicate glass.
We also use ancient goldsmithing techniques to create our jewelry, as well as semiprecious and precious stones.
Each object has its own personality, inspired by the colors, shapes, and materials of everyday life in Mexico.

Blown glass
We use different techniques for our pieces, one of which is blown glass, for our objects and utilitarian pieces.
Blown glass is a collaborative process; there are about 10 of us working in the workshop, creating only one piece. Each individual creates a part of the process, and finally, the master finishes the piece.
Pulled Glass
Another technique we use is lampworking, for our jewelry.
This is a process where glass is sculpted with a torch and shaped with tools (tweezers, pullers, etc.).
Goldsmithing
Renata has explored goldsmithing, creating unique, custom-made pieces.
Using materials such as silver, gold, semi-precious and precious stones.
Each piece is carefully designed and crafted, making them unique and full of magic.
